Occupied Absence explores how the body can occupy a space even when it is physically absent. A chair appears to be occupied, yet the incomplete figure— its head missing—also suggests an absent identity. Through hair, thread and traces of wear, the work considers the body through what it leaves behind: impressions, fragments and fragile evidence of presence.
